HR SLITTED STRIPS
Hot rolled steel is rolled at high temperature from a cast steel slab more than 150mm thick into steel coil as thin as 1mm thick. Since the steel is rolled hot, and the reduction from slab to coil is great, the coil surfaces are noticeably rough and slightly oxidized. Hot rolled steel is strong and easier to form but comes with heavier thicknesses and wider gauge tolerances. It also offers lower mechanical property control. As a result, it may provide cost savings where appearance, dimensions, and weight requirements are not critical.
Hot rolled steel strips are high quality products and are ideal material in demanding manufacturing processes and projects. Applications for hot rolled strips include solar mounting systems, truck frames, machinery, and structural projects. Here are some typical applications:
¬ Wheel rims
¬ Heavy truck frames
¬ Strappings
¬ Stampings
¬ Pipe and tubular
¬ Agricultural equipment
¬ Construction equipment
¬ Metal buildings
